A.R. Laidlaw

A.R. Laidlaw is the formal title of Adam Robert Laidlaw, last of a dying breed, one of the few true American vagabond musicians left. A Michigan native, Laidlaw went by the name “Robert Law” (a.k.a. Bobby Law) before relocating from Flint, Michigan to Los Angeles, California in 2008.

From there he moved around, landing shortly in Detroit, re-christening his indie folk tunes as “Under White Pines” & relocating again to Atlanta, Georgia, his home on-and-off for several years. Laidlaw also fronted BRUNCH (another of his own projects featuring fellow indie-emo-folk songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist Chris Spino of Coma Girls & Atlanta-based musician, producer & engineer Damon Moon of Standard Electric), played lead guitar in The Kodaks, & played bass in Triathalon, moving between Savannah, GA & ATL.

Now back in L.A. - Laidlaw has several projects in the works. After playing in Gothic Tropic & on the new Coma Girls album, he has joined with Underflow to re-release his older material (& newer solo songs) under one unified banner & name —

A. R. LAIDLAW

With a musical background that has changed as much as his address, Laidlaw produces his own unique blend of indie pop & emo rock through unique guitar tunings, defeated Americana dreams & classic folk leanings.
