Sister Bliss
Sister Bliss is the project of dual singer-songwriters & multi-instrumentalists: Brooklyn, NYC-based James Bishop & Leicester, UK-based Michael Hadden. As such, Bishop & Hadden bring both American & British blood to the sonically-rich project.
Bishop & Hadden formed LIGHTWASH while both living in the US in 2015. After leaving Cincinnati, Sister Bliss was born so Bishop & Hadden could both operate twin sister bands on both sides of the Atlantic simultaneously; sharing songs and recordings.
Formerly of Broken Circles, Bishop & Hadden are releasing music new & old through Underflow as Sister Bliss, bridging the gaps we feel in our everyday lives through their unique blends of sounds, vibrations, emotions & relatable yet soul-churning lyrics.

LIGHTWASH
“Bishop has explored tone & raw emotion, matching hallucinogenic landscapes to taut songwriting.
’Bad Names’ is a beautiful exploration of the way sound & meaning intertwine.”
“Sister Bliss is a transatlantic, New York/Leicester collaboration, combining the influences of Connan Mockasin, Fleetwood Mac and George Harrison to create lo-fi psychedelic pop.”

“Sometimes you just gotta cut to the chase & say “this sounds good.” Which is what we’re gonna go ahead & do with ‘Thunder’”
Michael hadden
live in the UK
“Singer & multi-instrumentalist James Bishop is making melodic indie that sits somewhere between Broken Social Scene & Connan Mockasin. On latest offering “Walkathon” guitars chime in a sparse sonic landscape whilst Bishop’s hushed tones add a mesmerizing layer to a dreamy soundscape.”
“A shaded gem of an EP, ‘Half Hung’ is both measured & magnificent; a little drop of quiet, sauntering magic, but magic all the same”
