Whateverfest

Whateverfest is an underground music & arts festival launched in 2011 in Detroit. What began in the Hyesta apartment building in midtown Detroit, near the Wayne State University campus, has evolved into an internationally recognized independent festival rotating through venues over the years.

Our main driving ethos is to offer a platform for Detroit artists of all styles who might not have avenues, or those who are struggling to get into the circuit. Collaboration, connectivity & communication are crucial for growth, education & peace, so we enjoy bringing unique souls out to unconventional yet welcoming spaces to make lasting memories.

Whateverfest & our team has partnered with & donated proceeds to a variety of groups in the city such as Community Push, Playground Detroit & others, accomplishing food & clothing drives & more. Free entry is typically offered to our events if attendees bring clothes or canned goods to give back to those in need in our communities.

We work to simultaneously give back while celebrating the blend of cultures, musical genres & rebellious identities that make Detroit a music capital so widely recognized & respected worldwide. Our goal is to bring creative individuals & communities together to empower the differences that make Detroit such a unique melting pot of music, art & empathy. We strive to create safe spaces for individuals to feel free to be WHATEVER.
